Set on a stunning rural site with 360-degree mountain views overlooking the Arkansas River, this home’s low-profile design allows the mountain ridges to be seen both over and through the structure. The central living space provides unobstructed views of the river to the east and the Collegiate Peaks to the west. The house offers sheltered outdoor areas that protect against the sun, rain, and powerful winds descending from the high mountain peaks. Expansive glass immerses residents in the surrounding scenery, while operable windows and doors invite the sounds of the river into the home. Clad in weathered steel and raked plaster, the exterior anchors the residence to the earth, standing resilient against the Alpine desert environment.
